Arizona State Football Team Report (Yahoo! Sports)
Mon, 06 Oct 2008 00:08:11 PDT-

Quarterback Rudy Carpenter left on crutches and ASU's placekicker/punter Thomas Weber has a cast on his hand. The egos are just as black and blue.

The Sun Devils are a beaten and battered unit, and that is showing with a three-game losing streak following a 24-14 loss to California.

Carpenter's injury is the most concerning with ASU's offensive leader leaving Memorial Stadium on crutches with an ankle or leg injury. The senior didn't want to say what the problem was until he knew for sure.

ASU usually goes as Carpenter does. The signal caller is the Pac-10's active leader in virtually every meaningful category. He struggled against the Bears, however, completing just 20 of 35 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown.

Arizona St QB Carpenter on crutches after Cal loss (AP)
Sat, 04 Oct 2008 17:04:57 PDT-Arizona State Football quarterback Rudy Carpenter left Memorial Stadium on crutches after apparently injuring his left leg late in the Sun Devils' 24-14 loss to California on Saturday. Carpenter said he hurt his left ankle, but provided no specifics about when or where the injury occurred. He played the entire game despite taking a few hard hits, but the senior appeared to be limping slightly in the final...

Longshore leads Cal past punchless Arizona State Football (AP)
Sat, 04 Oct 2008 16:02:37 PDT-Nate Longshore passed for 198 yards and three touchdowns in his return to the starting lineup, and California held off punchless Arizona State Football in the second half of a 24-14 victory Saturday. LaReylle Cunningham, Cameron Morrah and Nyan Boateng caught scoring passes from Longshore, the senior two-year starter who lost his job in training camp to Kevin Riley.

Arizona State Football Inside Slant
Mon, 06 Oct 2008 04:40:03 GMT- Quarterback Rudy Carpenter left on crutches and ASU's placekicker/punter Thomas Weber has a cast on his hand.

Arizona State Football Notes, Quotes
Mon, 06 Oct 2008 04:40:03 GMT- --QB Rudy Carpenter's streak of 36 straight starts might be in jeopardy with a leg or ankle injury suffered in the 24-14 loss to California. The Sun Devil signal-caller left the game twice with injuries after being pounded by the Bears' front line. He was sacked three times, but hit frequently. It showed as he was off target and out of sync. --TB Keegan Herring was back on the field after missing three games with a hamstring injury.

Arizona State Football Strategy and Personnel
Mon, 06 Oct 2008 04:40:03 GMT- LOOKING GOOD: The offense needs more continuity. Of the first 11 plays against Cal, two were fumbled, there were two sacks and a false start. Not exactly the start ASU sought. WR Kyle Williams continues to be one of the few consistent players on offense, not only catching a 30-yard touchdown pass but returning punts and kickoffs for 125 combined yards. ASU's defense is being put in bad spots with its offense not able to sustain long drives and making too many mistakes with the ball.

Mon, 06 Oct 2008 04:16:12 GMT-With the season in full swing, here is a general breakdown of how Arizona is doing with offensive recruits:
